With the growing emphasis on education in all aspects of public and political life this degree offers you the opportunity to understand, explore and make an informed contribution to education debates. You will be able to make links between education policy, its delivery and the experience of groups and individuals.
Within the course you will explore contemporary issues in education and society; historical figures in education; the philosophy and psychology of education; learning theory; and education literature. This degree combines the traditional study of the disciplines of education with innovative approaches to study and your own learning.
As you progress through your course, there will be opportunities for you to focus on areas of particular personal interest. Our optional Study Abroad module will enable you to study for 6 months at one of our partner institutions across the world.
Assessments are through coursework. They are varied to encourage a wide range of knowledge and skills to be assessed.
